European Network of PES (Link to homepage)

What we do

The European Network of Public Employment Services is formalised by a Decision of the European Parliament and of the Council. Our members are the Public Employment Services (PES) of all 28 EU Member States, the European Commission as well as PES from the EEA Member States Norway and Iceland.

The Network can be officially heard as experts by the European Parliament and Council, the Commission and other EU bodies. We can work together more intensively and learn from each other.

What we want to achieve

We want to ensure employment and reduce unemployment in Europe, by:

  • an intensive exchange and by mutual learning.
  • creating transparency, better functioning labour markets in the EU for matching jobseekers and employers in a better way.
  • promoting fair mobility, so that it is easier for jobseekers to find a job in another Member State.

What we do

For achieving our aims, we want to increase the efficiency of all national PES, so that they are able to offer qualitative services:

  • We learn from each other by analysing and comparing the performances of all PES.
  • We exchange our information and ideas, especially our best practices. These are for example programmes, where employers are brought in touch with jobseekers successfully. Of course, we use the results for our projects.
  • We implement initiatives. One example is the EU-Youth Guarantee. In this project, we fight against youth unemployment. All jobseeking young people should get an offer for a suitable job or an educational opportunity.
